Bear Grylls States His New Book About Jesus Is His Greatest Accomplishment So Far

Bear Grylls Shares His Most Meaningful Work Yet

Adventurer Bear Grylls has traveled the world extensively, but he now describes his new book as his most significant achievement. The former host of Man vs. Wild has authored a survival series titled The Greatest Story Ever Told: Eyewitness Testimony, which narrates the Gospels through the imagined voices of people who witnessed the events described. The text is derived directly from the Bible.

The book has made quite an impact, reaching the top spot on the UK’s Sunday Times bestseller list and receiving a 4.7 out of 5-star rating on Amazon. Many readers express that it presents the story of Jesus in a lively manner.

“I believe this is my toughest accomplishment and what I’m most proud of, as it has influenced lives across the globe,” Grylls said. While he has appeared in numerous survival shows, he emphasizes that this book holds a special place for him.

“I receive the most letters and messages from individuals of all backgrounds, cultures, and faiths,” he added.

This isn’t Grylls’ first faith-based project. He has authored devotional books before and shared his testimony in churches. He is also set to host a new series in the Chosen universe called The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls. He hopes this book guides readers in discovering the Bible.

“I think very few people, including myself, truly understand the real story. It’s a wonderful, unsanitized narrative that’s both shocking and inspiring,” he reflected. “Many might know about ‘The Good Samaritan’ or ‘The Nativity,’ but the complete story is much more enriching and beautiful.”

“Too many people don’t engage with the Bible,” he remarked.

“I believe this serves as a solid bridge to faith,” Grylls said. “People are searching for purpose and meaning in their lives, and I think this addresses that need. It’s a unique approach.”

Grylls recounted a note he received from an American pastor who likened his work to reading a John Grisham novel about Christ. He felt a divine inspiration to create this book.

“I was really passionate about this project,” he noted. “I collaborated with a talented group of theologians to ensure its theological accuracy; they are truly the unsung heroes of this venture.”

First publication date is October 16, 2025.
