Bears-Texans paused after chain gang member hits head, carted off

It was a scary day for chain gangs across the NFL.

The third quarter of a Bears-Texans game on Sunday Night Football in Houston was stopped after a chain gang member tripped and hit his head hard on the ground.

He was then treated on the field and taken off the field on a stretcher.

He was awake and appeared conscious when he was carried away.

This happened after the Raiders' 26-23 win over the Ravens early Sunday was stopped while a member of Baltimore's medical staff was administering CPR to a chain gang member, according to multiple reports.

“A member of the Chain Gang crew collapsed,” the Ravens said in a statement. “He was immediately attended to by medical staff. He was alert and responsive when he left the field. He is being transported to a local hospital.”

A second NFL operations staff member is currently in need of medical treatment.
