Former Beauty Queen Seeks Ankle Tag Removal Amid Murder Charges

A former beauty queen from Georgia, Lindsey Civer, is facing serious allegations of hiring a hitman to kill her estranged husband, Robert Cibber, a former NFL player. Now, she reportedly wants her GPS ankle monitor removed so she can move forward with her modeling career.

The 39-year-old has been under GPS surveillance for over two years as she awaits trial in the Bahamas. She is accused of orchestrating a plan to have Cibber, a former long snapper for the Atlanta Falcons, killed back in July 2023.

Civer recently filed a request with a Nassau judge to have the monitor taken off, citing that it causes painful bruises and disrupts her sleep. She also mentioned the distress it brings to her children.

Additionally, she expressed a desire to return to Thomasville, Georgia, where she once shared a $3 million home with her husband prior to their separation in 2023.

In her petition, Civer claimed she has received several job offers, particularly in modeling and as an influencer, but feels restricted by the ankle monitor.

Previously, a judge had permitted Cibber to leave the Bahamas, and he is currently living on a ranch in Alabama with his parents.

Going back to Thomasville, Civer said, would allow her to be closer to her children and take on modeling jobs to help cover her legal expenses.

She shared her frustration about having to hide the monitor when in public to spare her three sons from embarrassment. Moreover, she noted she can’t even go to the beach without worrying about damaging the device.

Her petition is set to be heard in Nassau Supreme Court on December 8, where it’s expected that Civer will attend in person, while her ex-husband may participate via video link.

Civer’s trial is currently slated for March 2026, where she faces charges related to conspiring with her boyfriend, Adrian Bethel, to murder her husband.

Allegations suggest that Civer sent a photo of Cibber to her boyfriend’s childhood friend, Fallon Newbold Jr., along with a WhatsApp message instructing, “Kill me.”

If found guilty, she could face a lengthy prison sentence of up to 60 years.
