During Monday’s broadcast on ABC sceneryHost Joy Behar suggested that a “20-year-old white male” should be “reported” for purchasing 50 rounds of ammunition.
Sky News I got it. As Behar and the other hosts discussed the attempted assassination of Donald Trump that occurred two days earlier, Behar said, “CNN is reporting that a senior law enforcement official said the following: [the would-be assassin] A few hours before the rally, he purchased 50 rounds of ammunition at a local gun store.”
Behar then looked up at the other hosts and said, “Shouldn’t that have been reported? Someone buys 50 rounds. A 20-year-old white man. We’ve seen that so many times before. A young white man has a gun, he buys 50 rounds of ammunition, and nobody reports it.”

Behar may not be aware that 9mm ammunition is sold in boxes of 50, as are .45, .380, .38 Special, .40 S&W, .357 Magnum, etc. So reporting someone for buying “50 rounds of ammunition” is essentially reporting them for buying one box of ammunition.
Currently, rifle ammunition is sold in a variety of sizes per box, with a minimum average of 20 rounds per box. Still, buying 2.5 boxes would bring you up to the 50-round standard, which is not enough ammunition to fill even two standard-size 30-round magazines at the range.
