Recent polls indicate a highly competitive three-way race in Kentucky’s Republican Senate primary, significantly influenced by a final endorsement from the late Charlie Kirk and a $10 million investment from Elon Musk’s super PAC, as businessman Nate Morris gears up for the election in May.

In an interview on Breitbart News Saturday, Morris conveyed to host Matt Boyle that the competition revolves around “two McConnell puppets and one businessman outside of MAGA,” claiming that “we’re definitely on the rise.” He characterized himself as “an outsider, a disruptor, a change-maker in Washington.”

Polling conducted from January 27-29, 2026, by Fabrizio Lee & Associates among 800 likely Republican primary voters showed former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron leading with 31% of the votes, followed by U.S. Rep. Andy Barr at 24% and Morris at 21%. Notably, when voters were informed about all candidates, Morris led with 28%, surpassing Cameron’s 26% and Barr’s 25%.

Morris stressed the financial implications of Musk’s backing, mentioning that the $10 million contribution was a significant boost and claimed it had “completely changed the race.”

The discussion also highlighted Kirk’s support. Morris noted that Kirk was his last political supporter before his tragic death in 2025, and he attended a Turning Point Action rally to help launch Morris’ campaign. Morris described this support as “transformative,” indicating that “very few times do you have someone like Charlie stand up for you as much as he did for this race.”

Morris shared that he often hears from voters about the rally’s impact. “I travel around the state all the time, Matt. I meet Kentuckians every day. Many approach me, saying, ‘Hey, I was there with you and Charlie that day. It meant a lot to me and my family, so thanks for making history happen here in Kentucky.’

Reflecting on this support’s significance, he said, “That’s a huge responsibility. That’s our team, and we prioritize honoring his legacy with every step we take. He made the ultimate sacrifice for his beliefs, and we must never overlook that, both as a campaign and as a nation. I wonder if we’ll ever see someone like Charlie Kirk again.”

After being informed about Kirk’s endorsement, polls showed Morris pulling ahead by nearly a 2-to-1 margin.

During the interview, he also tackled legislative topics like the SAVE Act, which introduced voter ID requirements and other measures for election integrity. “The rest of the country is watching, too; they’re fed up with Mitch and are opposing MAGA, contrary to the American people’s interests,” Morris elaborated.

On the SAVE Act, he expressed, “We have a real opportunity to enact changes that could save this country. In 2020, we witnessed a stolen election. It’s bewildering how quickly people forget that. We must act to protect American citizens and their votes; that’s why it’s crucial to push this forward.” He criticized Mitch McConnell, asserting that his actions reflect a troubling character.

Morris remarked that McConnell has been in the Senate for nearly 40 years, emphasizing that the 2026 primary signals a generational shift. “He’s been there since before the internet existed. Mitch, as an obstructionist, embodies a lot of pettiness. It’s disheartening. I sense it’s a mix of jealousy and resentment on his part. Honestly, it’s rather unacceptable.”

Morris drew parallels to notable political figures, saying, “When you see images of Mitch, what do you think of? We recall Dianne Feinstein. That’s why I committed to just two terms in the Senate. Lifelong public service was never the founders’ intent.”

He also accused establishment factions of backing his opponents, declaring, “His allies are all in it. They’ve got Andy Barr leading, and Daniel Cameron is catching up. They’re pouring money into my opponents because this is their last shot at influence. That’s why this race is critical, and we’ll fight over the next 80 days until we secure victory.”

Morris expressed pride in being called “J.D. Vance 2.0,” stating it’s a compliment. “I wholly endorse that comparison. It resonates with me; I will back the president fully. I aim to be a senator like J.D. Vance.”

Outlining his vision for winning, Morris highlighted a broad network of support including Turning Point Action, Sen. Bernie Moreno, Sen. Jim Banks, and the Ramaswamy Senate Conservative Fund. “In the next 80 days, we will engage directly with the wonderful people of Kentucky,” he asserted. “I believe everyone is prepared for change.”
