Belgium’s Future Queen Princess Elisabeth Affected by Harvard’s Foreign Student Ban

Princess Elizabeth’s Harvard Journey at Risk

Brussels: Princess Elizabeth, the 23-year-old heir to the Belgian throne, has recently finished her first year at Harvard. However, the restrictions imposed by President Donald Trump on international students could jeopardize her studies.

On Thursday, the Trump administration revoked the university’s ability to register foreign students, compelling those already studying there to transfer or risk losing their legal status in the U.S. Furthermore, there’s a possibility that these measures may extend to other universities as well.

“Princess Elizabeth has just wrapped up her first year. The full repercussions of the Trump administration’s decision will become clearer in the coming days or weeks. We are currently looking into the situation,” stated Lore Vandoorne, a spokesperson for the Belgian Palace.

“We are evaluating everything right now, trying to keep things steady. It’s a lot to handle in the upcoming days and weeks,” added Xavierbert, the palace’s communications director.

The princess is pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at Harvard, a program designed to expand student perspectives and enhance skills for effective public service careers, as noted on the university’s website.

She is the firstborn of King Philip and Queen Mathilde, and before Harvard, she earned a degree in history and politics from Oxford University.

Harvard criticized the Trump administration’s actions on Thursday, stating that the crackdown on thousands of students was illegal and viewed as retribution.
