'Believing in His Vision': NFL Player Devonta Smith Weds Mya Danielle in Intimate Ceremony

DeVonta Smith Marries Maia Daniel

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith and Maia Daniel exchanged vows on June 13, celebrating a weekend filled with love and faith.

Their ceremony was intimate, featuring handwritten vows and a backdrop of white roses and cross cutouts. Officiated by Rev. Joshua L. Mitchell, the couple emphasized their commitment to each other during this private moment before a larger gathering of 135 family and friends, including their young daughters. They described the ceremony as “having a true partner for life.”

Smith and Daniel, who first met in middle school, shared traditional vows at the altar, underlining their lifelong commitment to choose one another daily. Danielle noted, “Neither of us ever imagined that years later we would be at the altar together.” She expressed how special it is to have known each other since childhood, allowing both to grow individually and as a couple.

She aims to model true love for their daughters, mentioning the importance of a marriage built on love, respect, faith, and patience. “We want them to witness what a strong and healthy relationship looks like,” she said.

The couple got engaged on New Year’s Eve in Philadelphia and celebrated their marriage at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Disney World. Smith is recognized for in 2020 when he became the first wide receiver in nearly three decades to win the Heisman Trophy.
