Bella Robertson Mayo and her husband discuss their challenges with infertility in the new A&E series ‘Duck Dynasty: The Revival’

Bella Robertson Discusses Infertility Ahead of “Duck Dynasty: Revival”

Reality TV star Bella Robertson recently shared her personal struggles with infertility in an interview, just before the premiere of “Duck Dynasty: Revival” on A&E. She expressed that many people don’t fully understand the challenges that someone might be facing, saying, “I think people just don’t know what they’re talking about or who they’re talking to.” She noted that the show will address infertility, a topic that’s often kept private, and emphasized that social media can give a misleading impression about others’ lives.

Alongside her husband, Jacob Mayo, Robertson recounted how frequently they’re asked when they plan to have children. It’s a tough question to answer. “I think what we learned in marriage and what you see in our stories on the show is that getting pregnant and having kids isn’t as straightforward as some might think,” Jacob shared. He touched on the misconception that it’s easy or automatic to start a family, noting that it’s not just a matter of deciding to have kids.

“That’s kind of why when people say things, I think, if it were easy, then I would. But that’s not that simple,” he added, encapsulating the couple’s sentiment. Robertson agreed, stating, “When people make comments about us having children, we often reply, ‘Trust me, you don’t need to ask.'” They’ve faced this question more than they’d like, and it can be quite taxing.

After tying the knot in June 2021 on a farm in Louisiana, the couple chose to open up about their infertility journey in the new series, despite initial reservations. “That wasn’t an easy decision,” Robertson admitted. “We didn’t necessarily intend for this to be public. But we felt it was important to be authentic and share part of our reality.” She believes that discussing their story can help others facing similar situations, acknowledging that it’s a reality for many.

“I think we both felt we could help someone. It’s real for so many people,” she concluded. The new season of “Duck Dynasty: Revival” will premiere on June 1st, taking place eight years after the original series concluded its 11-season run.
