Ben Affleck Shatters Hollywood Drama Norms With Shockingly Respectful Divorce Comments

Ben Affleck finally spoke to Jennifer Lopez's divorce.

With his GQ Interview Published on March 25th, Affleck addressed Lopez with unexpected bounty, avoiding Hollywood-style drama and manipulating the trolling we expect. Affleck acknowledged their differences, maintaining the deep mutual respect they clearly share.

“My temperament is to be a little more reserved and private than her,” he said. “You don't always have the same attitude towards these things, as happens in relationships.”

“I love and support this person. I believe in them. They are amazing. I want people to see it,” he said elsewhere in the interview, continuing to explain that the documentary he and Lopez co-created was a true expression of love they shared with each other.

Hollywood's division is often undermined by custody battles and bitter public spats. However, Affleck owned his role and broke the mold by clarifying the misconceptions that dominated the headline.

“And I think what I said in the documentaries I said and the works they used was where I said, you have to own what you knew to enter into any relationship,” he said.

“And I think it's important to say that it wasn't the cause of some major fractures.”

Affleck told the interviewer: “I hope it was clear that this was a truly respectful person, and I hope that people will be divine or explore different perspectives in that they feel comfortable approaching the boundaries of public and private life.”

“But I really hope that whatever you use doesn't suggest that I have negativity, judgment, etc. I just respect it. I think there's a tendency to look at breakups and identify the root cause, etc. But honestly, like I said, the truth is probably much more quotes than people believe or believe it's funny,” he continued.

Affleck said, “Yeah, there's no scandals, no melodramas, no plot.”

“The truth is, when you talk to someone, they say, 'Hey, what happened?' Well, 'This is what happened,' he told GQ.

“It's just a story about people who try to grasp their lives and relationships as we normally do. This is the second time Affleck and Lopez have broken up. They had been engaged previously, but in 2004 they canceled their fiancé. They got married in 2022 before announcing their divorce in 2024 and in 2022.
