Ben & Jerry's is launching a new ice cream flavor, “Kamala Coconut Jubilee,” as part of a 20-city get-out-the-vote tour in partnership with progressive group MoveOn Political Action to elect Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats this November.
MoveOn will launch its “Scoop the Boat” ice cream truck tours in key battleground states, handing out free Ben & Jerry's ice cream to urge voters to vote for Harris and other Democrats, the group said. Announced Thursday.
The ice cream truck tour will kick off in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Monday, September 16, the same day early voting begins in key battleground states.
According to MoveOn, the radical left group has “teamed up with Ben & Jerry's co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield to raffle off free, limited-edition, signed pints of Kamala's Coconut Jubilee beer.”
From there, the Ice Cream Truck Tour will visit more than 20 cities in battleground states including Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada.
MoveOn will be “working with New York City's Malai Ice Cream on the tour, as well as with Jeni Britton, founder of Jeni's Ice Cream,” the group added.
Other upcoming ice cream flavours include “Safe Ice Cream with Vanilla Bean”, “Inauguration Birthday Cake”, “Fight for Rights Sherbet” and “MoveOn Mobilizer Milk Chocolate”.
Each tour stop will feature appearances from elected officials, left-wing activists, and other “special guests,” and MoveOn will hand out “free ice cream and other giveaways.”
“The excitement and joy are with us now,” declared Lana Epting, executive director of MoveOn Political Action, warning that former President Donald Trump's return to the presidency through the electoral vote would be “tyranny.”
“Thousands of votes will determine whether we live under Kamala Harris' democracy or Donald Trump's dictatorship,” Epting said. “MoveOn's Scoop the Boat ice cream truck tours will help us meet voters where they are and mobilize our communities to defeat Trump once and for all this fall.”
Jerry Greenfield, a left-wing activist and co-founder of Ben & Jerry's, added: “We love ice cream and we love MoveOn because our members work so hard for the changes we care about.”
Ben & Jerry's, owned by British giant Unilever, is no stranger to involvement in left-wing activism and spreading radical left-wing rhetoric.
In 2018, Cohen and Greenfield introduced a new flavor, “Pecan Resist,” that mocked then-President Donald Trump, claiming that the 45th president “must be stopped.”
In 2019, the company launched a new flavor called “Justice ReMix'd” that advocates for prison reform.
In 2020, Ben & Jerry's announced a partnership with national anthem protester and NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick to release a social justice-themed vegan ice cream called “Change the World.”
In 2021, the company released a flavor called “Change Is Brewing,” in support of Rep. Cori Bush's (D-Missouri) Black Lives Matter-endorsed police and public safety bill. (Bush subsequently lost a primary and is due to leave Congress in January.)
Last year, Ben & Jerry's lectured Americans on the Fourth of July, claiming that “the United States of America was founded on land taken from indigenous people” and that Americans needed to “commit to giving the land back” (the company could lead by example… but it doesn't).
