Ben Simmons To Miss Time With Injury. Is He Already Washed Up?

Brooklyn Nets’ guard Ben Simmons is injured … again.

The three-time NBA all-star is expected to miss the next three games for the Nets after being diagnosed with a left lateral upper calf strain, according to ESPN’s Nick Friedell.

Simmons was just recently getting back to the court too, after recently missing six games due to left knee soreness, according to ESPN.

Since being traded to the Nets a season ago, Simmons’ career has gone downhill fast. Beyond the fact that he can’t stay healthy, his production has dipped significantly since his trade to Brooklyn. His statistics in points, rebounds, and assists, have all dropped dramatically and he’s actually come off the bench in more games this season than he’s started in, according to Pro Basketball Reference. Simmons used play with a special explosiveness when he was playing for the Philadelphia 76ers that he doesn’t have anymore. He used to attack the basket like LeBron James and pass the ball like Magic Johnson. Nowadays, he plays timid and seems uninterested in whether or not the Nets win or lose.

I’m not sure if injuries are tearing him down or what but he’s beginning to look washed up. The player he was in Philadelphia is not the same guy that’s playing for the Nets right now.

Hopefully Simmons can come back strong from this injury. It’d be a shame if he allowed his talent to go to waste.
