Ben Stiller's tweet about the Knicks draws criticism due to its timing with the WHCD shooting.

After the Knicks secured a 114-98 victory over the Hawks in Game 4 on Saturday, bringing their playoff series to a tie, Ben Stiller stirred some conversation with his tweet of congratulations.

He tweeted “I’m done,” which some interpreted as a reaction to an earlier incident during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that coincided with the game’s conclusion.

Representative Nancy Mace replied to Stiller’s post, asking, “What’s going on?”

Mace’s tweet included a community note from X that clarified, “He was rooting for the Knicks to win the game against the Atlanta Hawks.”

“(They did, by the way.)”

Throughout the game, Stiller had been tweeting live updates.

However, there were murmurs that his comment could be seen as a jab at President Trump, given his past criticisms of the former president.

An enthusiastic Knicks supporter, Stiller hasn’t directly commented on the situation yet.

He shared a salute emoji the following morning.

Stiller was present in Celebrity Row during Game 2 of the Knicks and Hawks playoff series at Madison Square Garden.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner experienced an unsettling moment that night when the suspected armed assailant, Cole Thomas Allen, was able to breach security at the Washington Hilton.

President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and his entire administration were evacuated safely.

One law enforcement officer sustained a gunshot wound but is not seriously injured, and no other injuries have been reported.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche remarked that the suspected shooter seemed to have been targeting members of the administration.

Meanwhile, Game 4 was taking place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, with the Eastern Conference series now tied at 2-2. Game 5 is set for Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, followed by Game 6 in Atlanta, and, if necessary, Game 7 back in New York.
