The celebration at the end of the inning led to a full college baseball brawl in Alabama.
NAIA's Spring Hill College held Mobile College on Tuesday, surged at the bottom of 11 innings, tied the score at 5-5.
With two outs and two runners on base, Spring Hill's Seth Williams appeared on the pitch of Isido Rozimenez on Mobile.
The ball spiked behind the home plate and the mobile catcher caught to finish the frame.
When the ball got caught, Jimenez kneeled at the diamond and cried out in celebration, but headed towards Williams on his way back to the dugout.
However, Jimenez's uplift rubbed Williams the wrong way, and quickly turned around and entered the junior's right-handed face.
The two soon began yelling at each other and bumped into each other.
Just a moment later, both benches were cleared and a brawl formed around the home plate as the game quickly became uncontrollable.
After many pushes and pushes, the game was interrupted.
“During Tuesday's baseball game between SpringHill and Mobile, play was stopped after 11 innings following a field altercation involving members of both teams,” SpringHill College said. It stated in a statement to WKRG 5.
“SHC holds all student-athletes and coaches to the highest standards of action and sportsmanship. What happened does not reflect the values of the program or institution.”
The explosion is being judged by the University Athletic Conference in the South, the Southern State Athletic Conference and the judges.
Jimenez finished the game with one hit and walked three times in two innings.
