Ja'Marr Chase can't be accused of not having faith in the Bengals.
Ahead of this weekend's AFC showdown against the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs, Chase told reporters on Thursday that he believes the Bengals are the top team in the AFC.
The matchup between these two teams is a big one for the AFC, as it will determine which team will advance to the Super Bowl in both 2022 and 2023.
Cincinnati comes into this game coming off a season-opening loss to the Patriots, but Coach Chase believes in his team.
“Everybody knows, brother.” “I'm not sure what to do,” Chase said, according to ESPN.“It's not a question of 'if.' We are the team to win in the AFC, and we know it, and we have to play like it.”
The Bengals are two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance, but the question remains as to whether they have taken another step toward becoming a championship-caliber team.
“All the noise that guys make and everything, we see it, we hear it,” Chase said, “but we're not worried about it, you know what I mean? At the end of the day, it's about the team and what we're doing on the field.”
“We don't have outsiders on the field telling us what to do on the field. We're going to let them be off the field and give their own opinion.”
The Bengals have been dealing with injury issues for wide receiver Tee Higgins, but Higgins denied speculation that a hamstring issue was what kept him out of the Week 1 game.

In conversation with ESPNHe questioned why fans thought he was faking it, telling media: “I don't understand.”
Fans also speculated about the condition of Burrow's wrist after a video of the quarterback bizarrely drinking from a water bottle went viral on social media.
Still, the rivalry between the two teams remains strong ahead of their Week 2 matchup.
“The energy is there [on] “I think both sides know we hate them,” Chase said. “They know we hate them, so the energy's already there. There's not much we can say at this point. It's been four years now, everybody understands.”
The two teams will kick off at 4:25pm on Sunday.
