Benson Boone’s Humorous Reaction to Grammy Snub

Benson Boone had a lighthearted take after not being nominated for a Grammy this year. On November 7, the Recording Academy released a list of 2,026 nominees, but Boone’s name wasn’t among them. He shared his thoughts on Instagram, joking about how his song “Mystic Magical” missed out on a nomination.

“I can’t believe Moonbeam Ice Cream wasn’t nominated for a Grammy,” he quipped, posting a surprised selfie. He described the song as “literally pure lyrical genius,” adding a touch of humor to his disappointment.

Boone first gained attention in 2021 when he competed on “American Idol.” He made it to the top 24, and despite being told by judge Katy Perry that he had a great shot at winning, he opted to leave the competition early to pursue his career more seriously.

His comments came just as the Recording Academy announced Kendrick Lamar as a leading contender for the 2026 awards, with nine nominations. Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff, and Circutt followed closely with seven nominations each.

Interestingly, despite not being nominated this year, Boone is still in the running for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Last year, Chapel Lawn took home that prestigious award, and other nominees included artists like Shabouzi and Teddy Swims.

Currently, Boone is on his “American Heart” tour in Europe, which wraps up in Stockholm on November 18. Following that, he’s set to perform at the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 4.
