Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH) recently expressed his views regarding immigration policies, stating that Democrats prioritize the interests of undocumented immigrants over American citizens. He shared these sentiments during a conversation on Breitbart Fight Club, responding to a listener’s call to support a bill that would prevent Democratic-led states from issuing driver’s licenses to illegal migrants, tourists, and asylum seekers.
Moreno highlighted a disturbing trend, noting a rise in deaths and injuries caused by foreign drivers, many of whom enter the U.S. on temporary tourist visas. He emphasized that ensuring the safety of Americans should be a top priority. “If we maintain control of the House and Senate, passing the ‘Red Light Act’ will be essential,” he stated.
“We shouldn’t have Americans dying because illegal aliens are allowed to drive large trucks. Honestly, I wouldn’t even know how to drive a semi myself. It’s unbelievable that we’d put someone without a legal status behind the wheel of a massive vehicle that has been involved in fatal accidents on American roads. There have been too many incidents already. How are these individuals even getting these licenses?”
Moreno criticized politicians, such as the governor of Connecticut, who argue for granting licenses so that undocumented immigrants can find employment, suggesting instead that such actions may harm American workers. “If an illegal individual goes to the DMV for a driver’s license, they should be issued a deportation order, not a driver’s license.”
He believes that this reflects a broader mindset within the Democratic Party, which he accuses of prioritizing illegal immigrants over U.S. citizens. He pointed out that when Republicans voice concerns about this issue, they’re often labeled as racist, questioning why American citizens shouldn’t be prioritized.
He recounted a Senate hearing where he asked a Georgetown professor, a Democratic witness, if he would care for someone who broke into his home. The professor’s affirmative response led Moreno to jokingly warn him to keep his address private. He also recalled an exchange with Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison on whether someone who trespassed should be arrested, to which Ellison replied he wasn’t sure, depending on the circumstances.
“This mentality is astonishing,” Moreno remarked, as he made these observations amid increasing Democratic calls for amnesty and more opportunities for legalized migration.
Many Democrats show a strong emotional attachment to supporting migrants, especially those representing districts with large immigrant populations.
