Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) on Friday secured a commitment to suspend the closure of the Chillicothe paper mill until the end of the year after private equity Democratic donors moved to close the historic fixture in Chillicothe, Ohio.

“I’ve just hung up on HIG Capital and am excited to announce that I have agreed to suspend the closure of Chillicothe Paper Mill until the end of the year. I look forward to working with them to find a solution that will ensure the well-being of Ohio workers,” Moreno wrote Friday morning.

Moreno said HIG’s business model is to “suck proverb blood from the companies that the company has acquired until the company declares bankruptcy and the employees and communities destroys it.”

“We can conclude that HIG has acquired a groundbreaking Ohio business with the sole intention of shutting it down to sacrificed hardworking Ohioans to lay it down in executive pockets,” he said.
