Senator Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Zoran Mamdani Shine on Social Media
On Saturday, Senator Bernie Sanders, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Democratic mayoral hopeful Zoran Mamdani took to social media, drawing significant attention.
Sanders, on his “Fighting Oligarchy” campaign tour, is set to visit Brooklyn City Hall. A report highlighted this notable event.
The post went live around 3:36 PM and quickly garnered more than 350,000 views. The three political figures, all recognized for their progressive stances, were seen smiling together in Queens, while onlookers cheered and critics made their jabs.
The caption read, “A perfect afternoon in Astoria,” showcasing the three prominent faces of modern leftist politics.
Sanders and Mamdani Unite to Combat Oligarchy in New York
Sanders, at 84 years old, and 33-year-old Mamdani recently marched together in Manhattan’s Labor Day parade, proudly carrying a banner that proclaimed the “power of unity.” They were joined by fellow Democrat, Governor Kathy Hochul.
Mamdani presents himself as a democratic socialist with a focus on affordability, promising concepts like free public transportation and state-operated grocery stores funded by increased taxes on the wealthy. Notably, he has raised $8 million through grassroots donations.
Having grown up in Brooklyn, Sanders utilizes his tour to amplify the voices of emerging progressives such as Mamdani and Ocasio-Cortez, both of whom resonate well with New York’s leftist Democrats.
