An unsettling diary of disinformation and dangerous delusions
This response:
Dana Bash from CNN, Sunday: “Do you believe Hamas is neglecting the needs of the hungry?”
Senator Bernie Sanders: “No.”
We say: Huh? Hamas initiated a conflict that resulted in suffering for Gazans. It’s taking food from those in need.
Ending the war and food scarcity could happen instantly by releasing hostages and surrendering.
But according to Sanders, terrorist groups bear no responsibility for Gaza’s hunger. What’s up with that?
This statement:
“I don’t want to hear about this nonsense regarding the constitutional issues with redistricting.” – Rep. Mark Veasey (D-Texas), Saturday
We say: Oops. We encourage “blue states” to rezone and sidestep their constitutional responsibilities about redistricting. Veasey has inadvertently pointed out how Republicans have been on this for a while. Democrats seem more focused on power than on law and democracy.
I’ll do what’s necessary to achieve that, whether it adheres to the law or not.
This claim:
“Trump… I’ve always felt threatened by the intellectual capabilities of black men.” – Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Wednesday
We say: Wow, where did that come from? This seems tied to his own racial perspectives.
Anyway, Trump faced a setback, racking up 91 criminal charges along with nearly $5 billion in civil penalties.
It seems he hasn’t been “blackmailed” by anyone.
This statement:
“Honestly, I don’t mind if Al Sharif was part of Hamas.” – Ian Williams, President of the Foreign Press Association, Tuesday
We say: Williams only seems to care about Al-Sharif’s role as a journalist.
Israel has criticized Williams for claiming Al-Sharif is with Hamas. He noted that “Hamas operates as a political group, and maybe a terrorist organization.”
Maybe? Hamas killed 1,200 innocent Israelis in one day. There’s no doubt it was a terrorist group, making Al-Sharif a valid target.
