The 2025 NFL Season: PPR Wide Receivers
The 2025 NFL season is upon us, and it’s time to consider PPR wide receivers. If we look back at last season’s top fantasy receivers, the results might not surprise you. Jammer Chase, playing for the Bengals, topped the charts. His impressive performance resulted in an average of 23.7 PPR fantasy points per game, while both Justin Jefferson and Amon Lacent Brown followed closely with 18.7 each. It’s interesting to note that Chase managed to outshine other big names like Saquon Barkley and Yummy Gibbs in total fantasy points.
Who was the first receiver off the board?
Plugging in Chase as the leading receiver seems like a no-brainer. The Bengals are expected to maintain their pass-heavy strategy, especially with Joe Burrow at quarterback. Unless injuries come into play, there’s not much reason to think they’ll slow down. As for the other top receivers in the league, there’s uncertainty about their potential for significant growth. Jefferson still needs more integration into a pass-first offense, and let’s not forget about the less proven QBs like JJ McCarthy. I think he has a solid shot at keeping pace with Chase, but everything hinges on the QB situation. St. Brown is in a challenging spot without Ben Johnson, and with Jameson Williams looking to prove his worth this year, the dynamics shift a bit. The Cowboys are set to lean heavily on their passing game, and with George Pickens joining the Rams, Cedee Lamb could also make a strong case for himself. There are several receivers who could step up, but they’ll need to demonstrate consistency to be truly reliable. The good news is that there are plenty of excellent options available early in the draft if you don’t snag that top pick.
Rookie receivers are also making headlines, despite the risks associated with selecting them. Transitioning to the NFL is a challenge, especially when competing against established professionals. As we gear up for week one, some questions remain unanswered. While we know Travis Hunter and Tetairoa McMillan are securing their starting spots, we still have much to learn about the 2025 rookie receiver landscape. Right now, these two are the only standout players, but the situation could evolve quickly. When considering rookies, it’s essential to take their depth chart positions into account. Just because a rookie receiver seems promising doesn’t guarantee they’ll deliver strong performances on the field.
