Week 2 of Fantasy Football Season

So, it’s the second week of the fantasy football season already! Before diving in, let’s quickly recap the standout players from week one.

One player who really surprised was Zay Flowers from the Ravens. He caught 7 of 9 targets for a whopping 143 yards and even added two rushing attempts for 8 yards. Those nine targets are noteworthy considering Lamar Jackson only threw the ball 19 times. If Flowers continues to attract that level of attention, his performance should improve compared to last season.

Keenan Allen may be on the older side, but he’s still proving valuable. Last Friday, he became Justin Herbert’s primary target as Herbert delivered one of his best games. Sure, Quentin Johnston and Rudd McConkey also had solid performances, but Allen seems to be Herbert’s go-to guy this season.

Coach Andy Reid believes he’s contemplating some valuable changes this week. There’s uncertainty surrounding his play, leaving room for careful consideration of practice reports. If he can’t play, Hollywood Brown’s opportunities could significantly increase.

Drake London sprained his shoulder against the Buccaneers, but it looks like he might avoid missing games. Keep an eye on injury updates regarding his condition this week.

Darnell Mooney wasn’t able to play in week one due to a shoulder injury, but he was close. He should have a good shot at participating against the Vikings this week. If London remains sidelined and Mooney is cleared to play, he could see plenty of action.

As for Jennings, he injured his shoulder in Seattle during the first week but appears to have escaped any major harm. Reports suggest he should be able to play against the Saints this week, but do check the injury updates.

On the other hand, Kirk missed week one with a hamstring injury. He may have a chance to play this week, but I’d be cautious about relying on him just yet.

Godwin isn’t on the injury report, but it seems he won’t be back until week five as he recovers from ankle surgery.

I’m all for passing games, seriously. Add that to your high point totals and set up for a successful game plan.

Matchup Insights

Darnell Mooney’s shoulder injury kept him out in week one, but he seemed close to returning. He looks likely to play this week, and he could be a savvy pickup if available, especially if Drake London is out.

On the other hand, Kayshon Boutte shined against the Dolphins’ poor passing defense in week one. He caught 6 of 8 targets for 103 yards from Drake May. This game should be favorable for May, provided it stays competitive.
