Best 35 fantasy football quarterbacks for Week 3

Week 3 Fantasy Football Update

We’re now in the third week of fantasy football, and Week 2 brought quite the shake-up for quarterbacks. Jared Goff, Russell Wilson, and Lamar Jackson all experienced significant moments. Josh Allen didn’t need to exert much effort against the Jets, while Joe Burrow faced an injury toward the end of the game, reshaping the landscape for some well-known fantasy quarterbacks.

Let’s dive into what Week 3 has in store for fantasy quarterbacks.

Jaden Daniels, Commanders

Daniels struggled against the Packers in Week 2. If he’s unable to play, Marcus Mariota will step in against his former team, the Raiders. However, Mariota may not provide the same level of offensive support for his fantasy players.

Burrow has a torn ligament in his toe, which will require surgery and likely a recovery period of about three months. Jake Browning will take over as the starter. Browning has the potential to be a useful fantasy quarterback, but considering the Bengals’ challenging schedule, he’s probably more of a temporary option.

Meanwhile, Dak Prescott is dealing with a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. Carson Wentz is set to fill in during his absence. Prescott’s limited playtime hasn’t significantly benefited his receivers in fantasy, but Wentz could provide a short-term boost for Justin Jefferson.

Justin Fields suffered a concussion in Week 2 and needs to be cleared to practice by Thursday to continue playing. It looks like Tyrod Taylor may start against the Buccaneers.

As for Brock Purdy, he might not be available this week because of turf toe, but that’s not confirmed. Mac Jones performed well enough last week to give him a decent shot at starting again against the Cardinals, which makes him a viable streaming option.

Michael Penix Jr. vs. Panthers

Penix had a strong performance in the first week, showcasing his dual-threat capabilities against the Buccaneers. However, in Week 2, JJ McCarthy and the Vikings struggled against the Falcons, relying heavily on their ground game with Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier, which meant Penix didn’t need to do much and ended up having a lackluster fantasy night.

This week, Bryce Young is showing improvement and is set to face a more manageable defense, which could be promising for his fantasy output.

As for Jones, this will be his first start outside Indianapolis, but his recent performances against top teams have made him a strong streaming candidate this week. He currently has three rushing touchdowns and averages 9.4 yards per attempt.
