Fantasy Football Playoffs Overview
It’s time for the Fantasy Football Playoffs! Christian McCaffrey is back after a bye week, which is great news. However, Devon Ashen is currently not at full strength, and I really hope he can play this week. If not, it might be wise to reconsider our strategies to move on in the playoffs.
Chris Rodriguez, Manager vs. Giants
Rodriguez has been playing a prominent role in the backfield, but his touches have been relatively low—12 and 10 in the last two games. He managed to score a touchdown and averaged 4.4 yards per carry against the Broncos and Vikings. This week, he faces the Giants, who have a notably weak run defense, so it could be an easier matchup for him.
Devon Ashen, Dolphins
Ashen left last week’s game due to a rib injury and didn’t return. The good news is his coach mentioned he could be back if needed. The Dolphins will play the Steelers on Monday night, so there’s a little extra time for him to recover. I hope we’ll know his status before lineup decisions have to be made on Sunday. Jalen Wright has stepped up in his absence, but those in the fantasy playoffs would surely prefer having Ashen on the field.
Benson was hurt in Week 4 and had arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus. He’s participated in limited practices recently, but he’ll need to be activated from IR this week, or it’ll be the end of his season.
Mitchell missed last week’s game with a knee injury and didn’t return. While the injury seems to be minor, it doesn’t guarantee he’ll be available this week. He doesn’t have a huge role in fantasy, but he showed last week that he can still produce decent yardage without many touches.
Kamara sprained his MCL in Week 12 and has missed the last two weeks. Devin Neal has taken on the leading role in his absence. He’s not on IR, which is a good sign, but he hasn’t practiced yet. Kamara will need to get ample practice time to be ready for this week’s game against the Panthers.
