Week 13 has arrived, and it’s feeling pretty exciting for NFL fans. Last week, Jahmil Gibbs really stood out, scoring three touchdowns and racking up 264 yards in total. Though he still trails Jonathan Taylor in overall scoring, Gibbs is tied with Christian McCaffrey for second place in fantasy points per game. Plus, he averages 6.1 rushing yards per carry, which is notably more than McCaffrey’s 3.7.
Devin Neal, Saints vs. Dolphins
Alvin Kamara is dealing with a knee injury and is expected to be sidelined this week. This situation might push Neal into a starting position against the Dolphins, who give up the fifth-most yards per carry to running backs. Last week, teams actively targeted Neal, with him catching 5 of 7 passes for 43 yards. This bodes well for his fantasy prospects this week.
Jacobs had to miss the game against the Giants in Week 11 due to a knee contusion. Thankfully, it seems he avoided major damage, but he still sat out in Week 12. He remains determined to play in the Lions game on Thanksgiving.
Benson suffered an injury in Week 4 and had arthroscopic surgery on his meniscus. He managed to participate in limited practice last week, giving him a decent chance of playing against the Cardinals this week.
Omarion Hampton, Chargers
Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh mentioned he doesn’t expect Hampton back until after their bye in Week 12, and so far, there hasn’t been any practice participation. If the Chargers want to have a fighting chance against the Raiders, they’ll need to step it up this week.
Irving has missed the last seven games due to shoulder and ankle issues, but he’s back in practice now. He could play this week against the Cardinals unless something goes wrong.
Pacheco is recovering from an MCL sprain sustained in Week 8. He might return this Thursday against the Cowboys, but there’s also a possibility he won’t be ready. If he’s in, he might be worth starting, but if not, Kareem Hunt could get a chance to shine in fantasy.
Kamara also suffered an MCL sprain in Week 12 and may miss this week’s game against the Dolphins, possibly even more. At this point, Neal is the last healthy option and could have significant fantasy value in what looks to be a favorable matchup.
