Super Bowl week is a time for quirky bets, and we may have found the weirdest of them all.
A bettor at Caesars Sportsbook in Nevada bet on the Kansas City Chiefs at odds of 10,000 to 1 on the 2024 Super Bowl with $100 to win exactly two points.
If the bet somehow comes true, the Caesars gambler stands to walk away with a whopping $1 million.
No team has ever scored fewer than three points in a Super Bowl.
Only twice have a team finished with exactly three points: the 2019 Los Angeles Rams and the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
A safety in the Super Bowl itself is extremely rare.
There have only been nine safeties in Super Bowl history, and the last one was in 2014, when a shot over the head of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning gave the Seattle Seahawks the lead in the final minute. It was the time when I raised this.
FanDuel Sportsbook sees little chance of safety for either team on Sunday, with odds of either team projected at +1260 as of this writing.
And while the Chiefs may not be the offensive powerhouse they once were, they are a tough team to keep off the scoreboard.
Patrick Mahomes’ team has scored fewer than three points in a game just once in his career — a 27-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 7 of 2021.
The Chiefs have scored in single digits in just two games with Mahomes.

The 49ers’ defense was never solid during the playoffs.
San Francisco gave up at least 350 yards to both the Packers and Lions en route to the Super Bowl.
So unless something changes, it won’t be difficult for Mahomes and company to break the two-point mark, even if the Niners pull off a rare safety.
