Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has ousted tech billionaire Elon Musk as the world’s richest person, according to Bloomberg data.

The billionaire stepped down as Amazon’s CEO in 2021 to focus on other ventures, including his rocket company Blue Origin and philanthropy. The Associated Press reported last month that Bezos sold about 12 million Amazon shares worth more than $2 billion.
Bloomberg also reported that the gap in wealth between Bezos and Musk has been narrowing in recent years. According to the report, Amazon’s stock price has more than doubled since the end of 2022 and is now nearing its all-time high.
Meanwhile, Tesla stock is down about 50% from its 2021 peak, they noted. Mr. Bezos’ net worth has increased by about $23.4 billion so far this year, while Mr. Musk’s net worth has decreased by $31.3 billion, according to the index.
Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, was listed as the third richest person with a net worth of approximately $197 billion.
