Biden, 81, to Debate Trump at Least Once, His Campaign Confirms

President Joe Biden, 81, plans to debate former President Donald Trump at least once, Biden campaign spokesperson Adrian Elrod confirmed Wednesday on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

After months of speculation, Biden announced he would debate the former president on The Howard Stern Show in April. “I’m out there somewhere. I’d be happy to debate him,” he said when asked if he would debate.

President Trump immediately called on Biden to make good on his promise, offering to host a live event from a Manhattan courthouse that Friday night.

Mr. Biden, described by special counsel Robert Hur as “an elderly man with a poor memory,” refused to act on Mr. Trump’s overtures.

Speculation quickly mounted that Biden did not mean what he said.

“Of course he’s not being honest.” outnumbered Co-host Emily Compagno said: “I had no idea what that actually meant. [Biden] Just say what came out of his mouth. He agrees with the opinions of those talking around him. ”

  • A recent Harvard-Harris poll found that about one-third of Democrats have doubts about Biden’s mental health.
  • Another poll revealed that 82 percent of Americans were concerned about his physical and mental health.
  • Only about a third of voters say Biden is physically and mentally fit to serve a second term, according to Quinnipiac.

Elrod acknowledged Wednesday that “President Biden has made it clear that he will discuss Donald Trump.”
