Biden Administration and Democrats Advise Americans to Doubt What They See

Senate Republicans Address Biden’s Mental Fitness in Hearing

During a Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, Senate Republicans showcased two videos aimed at highlighting what they called a coordinated effort to mislead the public regarding President Biden’s mental fitness.

The first video, introduced by Senator Eric Schmidt, was titled “The best witness they’ve had for years – a lie receipt they were sold.” Following that, Senator Josh Hawley presented another video, claiming it demonstrated evidence of Democrats avoiding accountability for years of deception about Biden’s inauguration. This video, he argued, supported assertions that the White House and its allies had misled the public about the president’s cognitive decline.

Chairing the hearing, Missouri Senator Eric Schmidt criticized his Democratic colleagues for their absence. “They chose to ignore President Biden’s mental decline, so they chose to ignore the hearing,” he remarked. He pointed to a short video featuring past statements from Biden administration officials and Democrats urging the public not to trust what they see.

This phrase has surfaced repeatedly in various hearings, reflecting Republican critiques of media coverage regarding Biden’s apparent struggles, especially in contrast to how former President Trump was treated.

Schmidt also interrogated former White House press secretary Sean Spicer regarding perceived double standards.

Spicer emphasized that mainstream media seemed eager to prevent Trump from assuming office, and he compared the situation to how Biden, initially viewed as competent, became a point of dismissal. “The media didn’t deny the basic arguments anymore,” he noted.

He elaborated that the senators’ investigation was often lacking depth. “With Trump, the focus was on the simplest aspects, while with Biden, it involved various issues—physical, mental, and confusion,” he highlighted. “Trump’s challenges were often exaggerated without serious inquiries, unlike the multifaceted issues surrounding Biden.”

Spicer further asserted the need for accountability from legacy media, particularly as the Biden administration restricted access for independent journalists. “They were trying to control the narrative and silence those who sought accountability,” he stated, acknowledging that the administration has made strides in elevating diverse voices within the press.

Additionally, Senator Josh Hawley utilized visual aids to underscore instances of denial by Democrats. He displayed a chart labeled “Refusing to decline,” contrasting Biden’s stated positions with negative responses from Democrats.

“Photographs often convey more than words. Our colleagues on the Democrat side have made statements that require scrutiny,” he argued. He cited the conclusion of the Justice Department regarding Biden’s handling of classified documents, expressing concerns about his mental capacity.

Hawley concluded by asserting that the current political climate had pushed the nation into a significant constitutional crisis, criticizing those in power for their lack of honesty and reliability. “They simply can’t tell the truth,” he claimed.
