Biden Administration Pressured Amazon to Censor ‘Children’s Books, Books for Parents, Books Critical of Big Pharma’

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) announced on Friday in his “Amazon Files” release that the Biden administration has pressured Amazon to censor “children’s books, books for parents, and books critical of big pharma.”

“We knew Amazon censored books under pressure from the Biden White House. We now know which books were censored,” Rep. Jordan said in a thread posted to X/Twitter on Friday.

He added that House Judiciary Committee Republicans and the Arms Control Committee had obtained “internal Amazon documents showing that the immediate ‘trigger’ for Amazon to censor books in March 2021 was ‘criticism from the Biden Administration.'”

To censor books, Amazon has launched a new [Do Not Promote] “I missed class to buy an anti-vaccine book,” he said.

“Internal emails show that Amazon initially added 43 books to a new ‘Do Not Promote’ category for books that were deemed anti-vaccine,” Jordan continued. “These pro-censorship changes were made ‘due to criticism from the Biden campaign.'”

In response to a subpoena from Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee, “Amazon revealed the titles of 43 books it censored under pressure from the Biden Administration,” the congressman added.

“Whether you love or hate the books on this list, booksellers should not be pressured by the government to censor them,” Jordan said. “The Biden Administration has led Amazon to censor children’s books. Yes, picture books. Books for children.”

Jordan also said that before the coronavirus pandemic in China, “children’s authors were courageous enough to write books for unvaccinated children who face discrimination, especially in California and New York.”

“The author says the book ‘encourages love, understanding and kindness to all.’ Biden and Amazon are preaching ‘tolerance,’ right?” the senator added.

“The children’s book said that vaccinated and unvaccinated people can be friends,” Jordan said.

“Instead of censoring it, Amazon should have sent the book to Fauci, Gavin Newsom and Joe Biden,” he added. “Remember when they all said you’d lose your job if you didn’t follow the rules and vaccination mandates they made up?”

“Bestselling books for parents were also targeted,” Jordan said in a follow-up statement. “What the Biden administration and its elites hate most is parents making their own decisions about their children’s education, health and values.”

“If these efforts weren’t enough to effectively stifle dissent, Amazon also censored books that reviewed scientific papers,” he added.

“The book also boldly addresses whether research funding by big pharmaceutical companies can create conflicts of interest,” Jordan said.

“In the name of fighting ‘anti-vaccine’ misinformation, Amazon has censored everything from children’s picture books to books critical of big pharma,” he added in another X post.

“These 43 books are just the tip of the iceberg,” Jordan argued. “Amazon, YouTube and Facebook have all succumbed to the Biden Administration’s censorship campaign.”

The senator also urged readers not to say that the Biden administration’s “censorship campaign was motivated by concerns about the spread of misinformation on social media.”

“They went after books,” he said. “This is, as always, about suppressing unpopular opinions, not about challenging new technologies.”

“This is completely unconstitutional government censorship,” Rep. Jordan declared. “Whether you agree with the statement or not, free speech is free speech, and the Biden Administration has pressured a private company to censor constitutionally protected speech.”

Jordan concluded his X thread by saying that House Judiciary Committee Republicans and the Arms Control Committee will “continue this important investigative work to further inform legislative solutions to dismantle the Biden Administration’s censorship regime.”
