Illegal Alien Protected from Deportation by DHS
President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has employed “prosecutor’s discretion” to shield undocumented immigrants from deportation, particularly in cases involving sex trafficking and coercion.
According to reports, a 22-year-old undocumented immigrant from Honduras named Jose Armando Carcamo Permodo was arrested on July 14 in Harris County, Texas.
This individual is accused of detaining a Chinese citizen who had traveled from New York to Texas to work as a masseuse. Upon her arrival in Texas, she claimed her passport was confiscated and that she was taken to Carcamo Permodo’s trailer, where she was reportedly locked in a closet for five days without food or water.
The woman alleges that Carcamo-Perdomo abused her repeatedly, forcing her into acts of violence and sexual assault. During one occasion, she managed to escape while the gates of his residence were open, only to be captured and dragged back into the trailer when she cried for help.
Local police responded to the scene after receiving reports and subsequently discovered the woman trapped in the closet.
DHS officials noted that Carcamo-Perdomo is a recipient of the “prosecutor’s discretion” policy, a measure initiated by the Biden administration and supported by former Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Tricia McLaughlin from DHS stated, “These allegations of sex trafficking are just one example among many instances where criminal undocumented immigrants were permitted to remain in the country under the previous administration’s policies.”
Back in November 2020, Carcamo-Perdomo faced deportation proceedings after crossing the US-Mexico border. The Biden administration later requested immigration judges to apply prosecutor’s discretion in his case, which ultimately led to a judge dismissing his deportation case in September 2023.
McLaughlin emphasized, “Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, undocumented immigrants who have committed crimes are no longer allowed to terrorize American communities. Our message is straightforward: criminals are not welcome in the US.”
The day after Carcamo Permodo’s arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) initiated a detention order against him. Should he be released from Harris County Jail at any point, he will be turned over to ICE for arrest and potential deportation.
