President Joe Biden reportedly declared Easter Sunday “Transgender Visibility Day,” despite making a very clear proclamation on Good Friday. The proclamation read in part: “I, Joseph R. Biden Jr., President of the United States, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, hereby certify March 31, 2024, as Transgender Visibility Day. I hereby declare it.”
RealClearPolitics’ reporter Philippe Melanhisson Wegman broke down a Q&A about Biden’s denial on Monday. Wegman said Biden said, “I didn’t do that,” and that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana), who criticized Biden for making the declaration, was “completely uninformed.” No,” he claimed.
Asked about declaring Easter Sunday a “day of visibility,” Biden said, “I’m not doing that,” and was asked about House Speaker Johnson’s claims to the contrary. “He has no idea,” he replied.

Biden’s denial blatantly false. On Good Friday, the White House released a proclamation titled “Transgender Day of Visibility Proclamation 2024.”
“On Transgender Visibility Day, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and our commitment to building a more perfect union in which all people are created equal and treated equally throughout life. We reaffirm our resolve,” the declaration reads in part. Additionally, it reads like a message written by Biden, with frequent use of “I” and “my administration.”
I am proud that from the beginning, my administration has championed justice and worked to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community lives openly, safely, with dignity and respect. I am proud to have appointed a transgender leader to my administration and lifted the ban on transgender Americans from serving openly in the military. I am proud to sign historic executive orders that strengthen civil rights protections in housing, employment, health care, education, the justice system, and more. I am proud to have signed the Respect for Marriage Act, which guarantees all Americans the ability to marry the person they love.
“Today we send a message to all transgender Americans: You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America. The entire administration and I are rooting for you,” the proclamation reads, before it was revealed that Biden had declared Easter Sunday, March 31, as Transgender Visibility Day. . [emphasis added]:
therefore, I, Joseph R. Biden, Jr., President of the United States, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Visibility Day. I call on all Americans to join us in elevating the lives and voices of transgender people across our country and working toward ending violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre deemed the Transgender Day of Visibility article to be misinformation and said Easter washappened to match and Ttransgender Vpossibility Dah. ”

However, given this declaration and the countless leftists who took to social media to celebrate Transgender Visibility Day on Easter Sunday, it remains completely unclear how this is misinformation.
On Transgender Visibility Day, we celebrate the joy, strength, and absolute courage of some of the bravest people I know.
Today, we show millions of transgender and nonbinary Americans that they belong and should be treated with dignity and respect. pic.twitter.com/mhixHV9KC2

As transgender Americans continue to face hate and harassment, it is more important than ever to stand by the trans community.
On Trans Visibility Day, and every day, let us reaffirm our commitment to uplift trans people and ensure a future free of discrimination.

Transgender Day of Visibility celebrates transgender and nonbinary Americans. Their courage has inspired countless others, but no one has to be brave enough to be themselves.

When House Speaker Mike Johnson heard about the declaration, he seemed to think Biden was “totally ignorant” and said, “The Biden White House has betrayed the central tenet of Easter, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” said.
“Declaring Easter Sunday ‘Transgender Day’ while banning sacred truths and traditions is outrageous and abhorrent,” he said. “The American people are paying attention”:
