President Joe Biden again called for a ceasefire in Lebanon on Saturday night, hours after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was confirmed dead, and Israel continued to fire on Hezbollah leaders and weapons depots.
As Breitbart News noted, Israel launched an airstrike on Hezbollah's underground headquarters in Beirut, Lebanon, on Friday night, killing Nasrallah. Iran, Hezbollah's patron, initially denied his death, but Hezbollah acknowledged it.
Biden issued a statement on Saturday welcoming Nasrallah's death but renewing his call for ceasefire agreements in both Lebanon and Gaza.
He spoke again on Saturday in response to a barrage of questions from reporters.
Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law and former White House adviser, posted a lengthy response Saturday night following Nasrallah's death, calling the cease-fire “irresponsible” and calling Israel's policy against remaining Hezbollah forces. He said it should be exterminated. Iran can no longer threaten the Middle East with war.
“The right thing for America to do now would be to tell Israel to get the job done. It's been a long time coming. And it's not just Israel's fight,” Kushner wrote.
