The Biden campaign has come under fire in parts of Florida for what it says has been a failure in its efforts to support Hispanics in the Sunshine State.
According to Fabiola Santiago, miami herald, the Biden campaign introduced its outreach efforts to Hispanic voters at a party attended by Florida Democratic Party Chairman Nikki Fried, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, and Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniela Levin Cava. Santiago described the photo promoting the event as “three gringos launching ‘Latinos for Biden-Harris’ in luxurious Coral Gables.”

The event reportedly did not feature local media or major Hispanic stars of the Democratic Party. Santiago interpreted this to mean that the Biden campaign was focusing on Hispanic voters in battleground states like Arizona while handing over states to Republicans. According to the editorial:
