Joe Biden called into his old campaign headquarters, now managed by Vice President Kamala Harris, on Sunday for his first semi-public audio comments since abandoning his bid for a second term as president, but did little to ease concerns about his health.
Monday marked another big moment in a series of big political events over the past few weeks: Sen. Kamala Harris announced that she was all but certain to have enough convention delegates to win the Democratic nomination for president in 2024, the day after the senator dropped out of the race.

“But,” he continued, still stammering, “you guys are a great team. But we’re a great, great… I think we made the right decision.”
In remarks that appeared to be prepared, Biden also expressed praise for Harris and promised to contribute to her campaign in any way he could.
“By the way, I’m not going anywhere,” Biden insisted, repeating remarks Harris made on the White House South Lawn on Monday about her COVID-19 recovery. “I’m going to be out on the campaign trail with her, with Kamala, and I’m going to be working hard both as a sitting president to get legislation passed and on the campaign trail.”
“You know, the name at the top of the candidate list has changed, but the mission has not changed at all.”
