Biden expresses gratitude to supporters after announcing serious prostate cancer diagnosis

Joe Biden Shares Update Following Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Former President Joe Biden made his first remarks on Monday after news broke of his diagnosis with what has been described as an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer.

“Cancer affects us all in some way. Jill and I, like many of you, have discovered strength in the tough moments. We’re grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us,” Biden expressed on X.

His team disclosed on Sunday that Biden had been found to have new prostate nodules after he reported heightened urinary symptoms.

“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, classified with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating it has spread to the bone,” the statement elaborated.

Reactions from Former Presidents

Notably, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, along with President Donald Trump, have offered their thoughts on Biden’s health situation.

Obama shared, “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Joe has tirelessly sought breakthrough treatments for cancer. I trust he will approach this battle with his usual determination and grace.”

“This indicates a more aggressive version of the illness,” the statement noted, adding, “however, it appears to be hormone-sensitive, which allows for manageability. The president and his family are exploring treatment options with his physician.”

Trump also expressed his sadness regarding Biden’s diagnosis, writing, “Melania and I are saddened to learn about Joe’s recent health news. We extend our warmest wishes to Jill and his family, hoping for a swift and successful recovery.”

Clinton remarked, “My friend Joe Biden is a fighter. Hillary and I are supporting him and keeping him, Jill, and their family in our thoughts.”
