Joe Biden ordered strikes against numerous militant targets in Yemen on Thursday.
He faces a backlash from some of his own supporters.
Joe Biden is already facing protests in the US over his decision to launch airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen in response to attacks on international shipping ships, with demonstrators at the White House “Hands off Yemen!” chants outside.
On Thursday, the president ordered “numerous” attacks on militant targets following what he called a “massive diplomatic campaign” to thwart attacks on ships passing through the Red Sea. The strike was carried out in coordination with the UK and with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada and the Netherlands.

“Yemeni, you make us proud. We want justice, you say it,” pro-Palestinian demonstrators chanted in New York City's Times Square on Thursday night. . Stop bombing Yemen now.”
The same crowd said, “Yemen will live forever. Say it loud and clear, liberation is at hand.”
Separate protests were held in Washington, with chants of “Let Yemen Live” thrown over the White House fence and accusations of “genocide” against the Biden administration.
Some Democratic lawmakers criticized him.
“The president needs to come to Congress before he launches an attack against the Houthis in Yemen and drags us into another Middle East conflict,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) wrote on the X-Post. “That's Article 1 of the Constitution. I support that regardless of whether we have a Democrat or a Republican in the White House.”

Rep. Val Hoyle (D-Ore.) echoed Khanna's sentiments, adding, “Every president, regardless of party, must first come to Congress and seek military authorization.”

Biden also faces criticism from progressive wings of the Democratic Party, which has increased in frequency over his policies regarding the war between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip.
“The people don't want any more of our tax dollars spent on endless wars and killing civilians. Stop the bombing and we need to do better.” Cori Bush said U.S. Representative (D-Missouri).

So let me be clear. We are once again dropping bombs across the Middle East (where I defeated ISIS!), and the Secretary of Defense, who just went missing for five days, is directing the war from a laptop in his hospital room. Remember, this is the same gang that “surrendered” in Afghanistan, where no one was held accountable and no one was fired. It was the most embarrassing “moment” in US history. There is currently war in Ukraine, Israel, and Yemen, but there is no “war” on the southern border. Oh, that makes so much sense. Crooked Joe Biden is the worst president in American history!
