As reported exclusively by Breitbart News, Banks has introduced the America Students First Act to block the Biden-Harris administration from offering the TRIO program to undocumented immigrants.
“Instead of waiting until 2025 to overturn this ‘America’s Last Policy,’ House Republicans should pass my bill to protect working American families’ access to college aid,” Banks said.
House Education and Labor Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) said college tuition costs are skyrocketing while the Biden-Harris administration is focused on providing benefits to undocumented immigrants.
“There are so many issues facing students and higher education today: rising costs, the failed implementation of FAFSA, and rampant anti-Semitism on college campuses, to name just a few,” Fox said. Said. “but What is the Biden administration focused on? Siphoning resources away from low-income Americans. By cutting back on college prep programs to cover illegal immigrants. [Emphasis added]”
