Biden-Harris DHS Freed At Least 99 ‘Terrorist Watchlist’ Migrants into U.S.

A shocking interim staff report by the House Judiciary Committee’s Immigration Security, Safety, and Enforcement Subcommittee reveals the extent to which President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has released into the United States immigrants who are on the government’s “terrorist watch list.”

Since Biden and Harris took office in early 2021, the Department of Homeland Security has implemented a massive catch-and-release network aimed at releasing thousands of migrants into American communities every day as they await deportation hearings.

Subcommittee Interim Report detail The Department of Homeland Security’s decision to release immigrants on the federal terrorist watch list into the U.S. from fiscal years 2021 through 2023

The report states:

Under the Biden-Harris Administration, of the more than 250 illegal immigrants on the terrorism watch list encountered by Border Patrol at the Southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, the Department of Homeland Security has released at least 99 into U.S. communities, and at least 34 more remain in DHS custody but have not yet been removed from the U.S.

It continues as follows:

Between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, Border Patrol agents on the southwest border encountered aliens on terrorist watch lists from 36 countries. This includes areas with active terrorist activity, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Yemen. [Emphasis added]

So far in fiscal year 2024, Border Patrol agents across the country have encountered tens of thousands of illegal immigrants from countries who may pose a national security risk.Of these, 2,134 are Afghan nationals, 33,347 are Chinese, 541 are Iranian, 520 are Syrian and 3,104 are Uzbek nationals. In June, reports circulated that federal agents had arrested eight Tajikistani migrants with ties to the Islamic State (ISIS) who had crossed the southern border into the United States.

Three of the ISIS-linked migrants were released onto U.S. soil after using the Biden-Harris administration’s “CBP One” app to schedule release appointments at the southern border, according to the subcommittee’s interim staff report.

Four of the ISIS-linked migrants crossed the border and one arrived at a port of entry and was later released into the U.S. interior.

“The open border policies of President Joe Biden and his border chief, Vice President Kamala Harris, have allowed millions of illegal immigrants to enter the United States, including terrorist organizations and other malign actors seeking to harm Americans,” the report said.

The report, which also involves a federal immigration judge, alleges that at least 27 immigrants on the terrorism watch list were released on bail from Department of Homeland Security custody between fiscal years 2021 and 2023.

“In addition, immigration judges have granted asylum to at least four watch list aliens, and at least two additional cases of known or suspected terrorists have been closed by immigration judges,” the report states.

The report also details the case of Mohammed Kalwin, 48, an Afghan national and member of the terrorist organization Hizb-e-Islami, who was arrested by federal agents in April after being released on U.S. soil twice.

Culwin first crossed the southern border in March 2023 and was released onto U.S. soil by the Department of Homeland Security that same month. After being held in federal custody in March 2024, he was granted bail and released from custody.

Only after the incident was reported the following month was Culwin rearrested.

“In three and a half years, the Biden-Harris administration has released more than 5.4 million illegal immigrants into the United States, and at least 1.9 million additional ‘fugitives’ are known to have fled to the United States,” the report said.

“The more than 7.3 million illegal immigrants include 375 illegal immigrants on the U.S. government’s terrorist watch list who were apprehended by Border Patrol under President Biden and Vice President Harris’ supervision,” the report continues. “This represents more than a 3,000 percent increase in encounters with aliens on watch lists compared to the entire four years of the Trump administration.”
