Biden-Harris Shower Millions on Sanctuary Cities, NGOs

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is sending hundreds of millions more of American taxpayer money to sanctuary cities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to resettle migrants across the United States.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made the announcement on Wednesday.

Specifically, more than $380 million in Shelter and Services Program (SSP) grants will be awarded to local and state governments and nongovernmental organizations to “provide critical assistance, including food, shelter, clothing, emergency medical care, and transportation” to migrants “recently released from Department of Homeland Security custody and awaiting immigration court proceedings.”

The Biden-Harris administration created the SSP with congressional funding to direct taxpayer money to cities and nongovernmental organizations that help resettle migrants released from the southern border into the U.S. interior.

The latest round of hundreds of millions of dollars in SSP grants to sanctuary cities and NGOs comes after millions were awarded earlier this year, a waste of money for those helping to resettle migrants.

Last year alone, the Department of Homeland Security provided more than $780 million in funding to sanctuary cities and NGOs through the SSP and the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), a program launched in the late 1980s to help homeless Americans.

House Judiciary Committee Latest Report shape This suggests that Biden and Harris' Department of Homeland Security has welcomed about 8 million immigrants into the United States — more than double the annual number of births in the United States.
