Biden Increases Immigrant Population by 6.6 Million — Nearly 2 Years of U.S. Births

President Joe Biden’s administration has caused the nation’s foreign-born population to surge to levels unprecedented in U.S. history, a new analysis details.

Researchers Stephen Camarota and Karen Zeigler of the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) analysis According to Monday’s announcement, 6.6 million immigrants added to the U.S. population from late January 2021, when Biden took office, to March of this year.

The increase in the foreign-born population under the Biden administration is equivalent to about two years of U.S. births, or more than the population of 33 states.

The foreign-born population now stands at 51.6 million, the highest in American history. In other words, for every 19 people living in the United States, she has 3 foreign-born children.

At the current pace, the foreign-born population will reach more than 82 million people by 2040, meaning nearly one in four people living in the United States will be born abroad.

Camarota and Zeigler estimate that nearly 60% of the record growth in the country’s foreign-born population that Biden is overseeing is due to illegal immigration. Approximately 40% came from legal immigrants, which remains a historically high number.

The United States admits approximately 1 million legal immigrants with green cards each year, 70% of whom arrive through so-called “chain immigration,” and newly naturalized citizens receive an unlimited number of immigrants for green cards. You can sponsor a foreign relative.

CIS previously released an analysis showing that immigration, both legal and illegal, drives nearly all of the population growth in the United States.

American voters have likely been telling pollsters for years that they want to reduce overall immigration levels, but lawmakers in Washington, D.C., have taken little action.

Rasmussen’s latest report investigation Six in 10 likely voters want to see immigration levels reduced, including four in 10 who want to at least halve annual immigration. Similarly, 63% of likely voters said they wanted to eliminate or slow population growth due to immigration.
