Biden Isn’t Falsely Puffing up Economy, People Have ‘Pessimism Bubble’

He said this on Friday’s PBS NewsHour. new york times Columnist David Brooks said the idea that President Joe Biden is “inflating the economy” is simply false. And while it’s true that “Americans are in a bad mood,” he believes this is due to a “pessimism bubble.”

Co-host Amna Nawaz said, “David, I’d like to ask you about the Republican response. First-term Alabama Sen. Katie Britt made this statement. Many of her comments focused on immigration and crime. But part of her message was about the economy.”

Nawaz then played a video of Britt criticizing President Joe Biden on the economy during the Republican response to Thursday’s State of the Union.

Then Mr. Brooks said: 275,000 new jobs created. Similarly, we have one of the largest economies in the world. We have the world’s largest economy among major economies. So the idea that people think Joe Biden is inflating the economy is completely wrong. Now, it is true that the American people are in a bad mood. I think we call it the pessimism bubble. ”
