Joe Biden’s Prostate Cancer Diagnosis Raises Concerns
Former President Joe Biden recently underwent a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, which is a standard method for detecting prostate cancer.
According to an official, “President Biden had never been diagnosed with prostate cancer before Friday,” addressing rumors that the 82-year-old had secretly been diagnosed during his presidency.
The announcement that Biden had an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer came as a shock to many within the Democratic Party.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor, a long-time family friend and White House physician, had not referenced a PSA test in recent reports on Biden’s health from February 2024.
One assistant speculated that O’Connor might have discussed the potential for false positives with Biden. “It’s likely they chose not to do it,” the assistant suggested, reflecting on the ambiguity surrounding the testing.
“There’s a paper trail for blood tests. If there was an effort to hide a result, it seems unlikely they’d have avoided a PSA test entirely,” the assistant continued, highlighting the complexities of testing decisions.
“The irony is, if the president skipped the PSA test due to fears of false positives, that choice could have severe consequences,” he added.
Dr. Zeke Emanuel, a noted oncologist and part of the Affordable Care Act’s development, expressed his thoughts on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, stating that the cancer could progress significantly over the coming years. “He likely developed it long before the last few months,” he said, suggesting it may have been present since the start of Biden’s term in 2021.
