Democratic strategist Paul Begala said Friday on CNN’s “News Central” that President Joe Biden’s press conference addressing Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report was “terrible.”
Host John Berman said, “How many democratic bedwetters do you think there are?”
“Look, I’m a Biden supporter. And last night I slept like a baby. I woke up every two hours crying and wet the bed. This is terrible for the Democratic Party,” Begala said. Anyone with a functioning brain knows that.”
He further added: Instead of him calling the press and saying, “I’m really sharp,” you attack your opponent. You know, Joe Biden he announced this strategy in 2012. When he was vice president, he remembers, he said, “Don’t compare us to the Almighty, compare us to the replacement.” So everything about Biden should be, “The other person is really toxic, dangerous, and a threat,” not “I’m great.” This is going to be a really rough, ugly and unpleasant campaign. You see, many years ago, former Klansman David Duke was running for governor against Edwin Edwards, who had been indicted, indicted, and convicted of numerous crimes. Edwin then won the election with a bumper sticker that read, “It’s important to not vote for a cheater.” And they had to say to the Democrats, look, both old people support old people. That’s important. ”
