Biden’s Misunderstanding on Harris’ Campaign Timeline
On Thursday, former President Joe Biden made an interesting remark regarding Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign. He appeared to misunderstand the timeline, suggesting that she had “six months” to succeed after resigning, which raised some eyebrows. This comment came during a discussion on “The View,” where co-host Sunny Hostin questioned him about criticisms of Harris’s campaign.
Biden seemed to confuse the number of months as he reflected on Harris’s withdrawal from the race on July 21, before the Election Day set for November 5. It was unclear if he fully understood the question or if he was mistakenly referring to how much time remained in his own term, which was set to end on January 20.
Biden wasn’t surprised that Harris lost, attributing her defeat to issues like sexism and racism in politics. He stated, “I still have six months left in my term. Every decision we made was influenced by her presence.” He added that their efforts had led to significant legislation, claiming they had “passed more large laws to fundamentally change the direction of the country than has been seen in a long time.”
He continued, sharing his frustration with conventional economic policies, saying he was fed up with trickle-down economics. “My father always said, ‘It’s not dripping that much on the kitchen table,'” he remarked, emphasizing their commitment to building a middle-class economy.
Additionally, Biden commented on former President Trump’s term, noting that he faced one of the toughest 100-day periods in history.
Later in the segment, Biden reflected on his achievements during the time after he had withdrawn, claiming he did a “pretty good job.” He asserted, “We left behind the strongest economy in the world. That’s not an exaggeration; it’s the truth.” He insisted they created more jobs compared to any previous administration, emphasizing the success of their efforts to shift the country’s trajectory.
