Biden says 'most important thing' is to 'defeat Trump'

“The most important thing is, [former President] After he dropped out of the presidential race, he was nicknamed “Trump.”

“When I first ran, I thought of myself as a transition president,” Biden said in the clip from “CBS News Sunday Morning.” Interview with Robert Costa of the same media“I can’t even tell you my age. It’s hard to get it out of my mouth.”

“It’s a great honor to be your president, but I have a duty to this country, and most importantly, we have to defeat Trump,” Biden continued.

Biden dropped out of the presidential race late last month amid growing pressure from within his own party that stemmed from his poor performance against Trump in a presidential debate in late June and raised concerns about the president’s age, mental health and ability to retake the White House.

The president endorsed Vice President Harris shortly after she announced she was dropping out of the race. Harris is currently the Democratic presidential nominee and on Tuesday announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as her running mate.

Harris is currently neck and neck with Trump, according to a Hill/Decision Desk average of national polls, with the vice president receiving 47.2 percent support to the former president’s 47.4 percent.
