The president signed stopgap legislation that maintains funding for the departments of Agriculture, Interior, Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Veterans Affairs, Energy, Justice, Commerce, and Energy. March 8th.

“This bipartisan agreement will avoid a harmful government shutdown and give Congress more time for a year-round funding bill. That’s good news for the American people. But clearly Let me say this: This is a short-term solution, not a long-term solution,” Biden said in a statement.
“In the coming days, Congress must do its job and pass a year-round funding bill that works for the American people,” he continued. “And House Republicans must act on the bipartisan National Security Supplemental Act, which has already passed the Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support and, if brought to a vote, the House. It will pass.”
The national security bill includes millions of dollars for purposes such as: ukraine Not only did it finance the war with Russia; Israel and indo-pacific Allies.
Senators voted 77-13 Thursday to approve the government funding measure, just hours after the House passed the bill by an overwhelming 320-99 majority.
Members of Congress must meet the following deadlines: March 22 Overviews fiscal year 2024 funding for the Departments of Defense, Legislature, Overseas Operations, Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, National Security, and Homeland Security.
Lawmakers say they have reached agreement on six spending bills to be introduced next week. Differences of opinion remain The other six measures include more controversial bills that would provide funding to agencies such as the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security.
