President Biden on Friday signed a funding package agreed to by Congressional leaders and passed by both houses of Congress, averting another government shutdown.
Biden signs funding bill HR7463, entitled “Extension of the Continuing Appropriations and Other Matters Act of 2024,” extending the March 1st funding deadline for the first round of appropriations bills by one week and ending March 8th. It is scheduled to be postponed to.
The bills will be sent to the House and Senate for a vote next week.

The funding bill also extends the deadline for the second bill to March 22nd.
But the second group of spending measures still needs to be finalized and agreed upon before they can go to a vote.
