Speaking to reporters after Thursday night’s CNN debate, President Biden expressed confidence that he put up a good fight against former President Trump.
“I think we did a good job,” Biden told reporters at a Waffle House outside Atlanta when asked about his performance.
Asked if he had concerns about his performance, the president replied, “No. It’s hard to argue with a liar. The New York Times said he lied 26 times. Big lies.”
Biden was then asked if he had a cold, which his campaign clarified after many expressed concerns about the sound of his voice during his debate performance.
“I’m sick,” Biden said.
Biden’s comments came after a CNN post-debate flash poll showed viewers believe Trump had beaten Biden by a landslide.
A majority of social media users, including some liberal pundits, seem to agree that Biden lost the debate.
The Biden campaign has offered positive reviews of his performance.
“Joe, you did a great job!” First Lady Jill Biden told the president onstage after the debate. “You answered every question. You knew all the facts.”
“We started slow but finished strong,” Vice President Kamala Harris told Fox News Digital after the debate.
