Biden Talks Retaliation after Strike at U.S. Air Base in Jordan Leaves 3 Dead, 30 Wounded

The possibility of a U.S. war with Iran has increased after three Americans were killed and 30 others injured in an airstrike on a U.S. air base in Jordan over the weekend.

On Sunday, President Joe Biden announced that the United States would decide when and where retaliation would occur.

“We will observe a moment of silence for all three of our fallen soldiers,” Biden told attendees at an event in South Carolina.

He further added: May God bless you. “

According to reports CBN NewsIranian-backed militias have carried out more than 170 attacks on U.S. military bases in Syria and Iraq since mid-October 2023.

A recent attack on an air base that served as a special operations facility to fight ISIS left around 30 soldiers injured.

“It’s clear that all the players in the region are really trying to see how the US will respond to it (the attack). Needless to say, without the US response, as an already diminished superpower… It will not affect the image of the United States,” former Israeli intelligence official Abi Melamed told CBN News.

Currently, the United States and Israel are at odds with Iranian proxies across the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, Yemen’s Houthis, who continue to attack ships in and around the Red Sea, and Hamas in Gaza.

Melamed claimed that all conflicts in the region are linked to Iran.

“So what we’re seeing in the Gaza Strip, in Lebanon, in Syria, in Iraq, in the Red Sea, all the threads ultimately lead to just one place, and that’s Tehran. This is the mullah regime in Tehran. Today we are giving a sample of the disaster, vision and future that we, the Middle East and the world will see if the mullah regime is not forcibly suppressed. I got it.”

In addition to last weekend’s attack, the United States and a number of countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and Finland, announced that Israel had presented evidence that the United Nations relief and works agency UNRWA had joined the United Nations Security Council in October. As a result, funding to the agency was suspended. .7 Attack on Israel by Hamas.

UNRWA personnel kidnapped women, distributed ammunition, and participated in the massacre at Kibbutz Beeri, where Hamas killed 97 Israelis.

“And while we have already suspended further allocations to UNWRA, we will certainly consider further measures, depending on the investigation, to see if any further changes are needed in how we support UNWRA going forward.” The White House said in a statement.

Meanwhile, UNWRA’s critics said the agency had longstanding problems.

“Let’s remember that cases of people working for UNRWA and at the same time working for terrorist organizations began in the 1960s,” said Adi Schwartz, co-author of the book War of Return. The author of the book ‘War of Return’ told CBN News.

He added: “The[US]senators in the ’60s saw people getting paid from UNRWA and the PLO at the same time, and that continued into the ’70s and ’80s. There’s nothing here. There’s nothing new,” he added.
