Biden Officials Criticize Kamala Harris Amid Book Release
Reports have surfaced indicating that some former officials from President Biden’s administration are critiquing Kamala Harris, his former Vice President. This comes after Harris recently launched her book, *107 Days*, detailing her brief experiences on the presidential campaign trail.
In an excerpt published on Thursday in *The Atlantic*, Harris expressed her frustrations with the Biden administration, asserting that they failed to adequately acknowledge her contributions during her time in office.
In response to Harris’s comments, former Biden officials told Axios that she wasn’t fully accountable for her role, with one stating, “Vice President Harris wasn’t good at his job.” They argued that she played minimal roles within key administrative projects, suggesting that she often engaged in publicity stunts instead.
In her book, Harris mentioned that despite having a robust press team, including former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, it felt “nearly impossible” to effectively communicate her achievements.
Harris highlighted instances where negative narratives about her surfaced, hinting at a lack of support from the team surrounding Biden. This, she claimed, contributed to the perception of a toxic work environment within her office, dampening her reputation as a “border czar.”
Additionally, a former aide noted that Harris might have fared better in shaping public opinion had she devoted more attention to her duties rather than to the issues she critiqued.
Other aides pointed out that there were opportunities for support that Harris and her team did not fully utilize. “There were team members willing to help her succeed as VP,” one aide remarked, adding that it was unfortunate the support wasn’t leveraged effectively.
In defense of Harris, some voices from the Biden team expressed disappointment in the treatment she received, with one saying, “We all witnessed how the Biden people treated her and her team poorly.” They mentioned a sense of pride in her commitment and efforts.
Harris also commented on how decisions were often made autonomously by Joe and Jill Biden, describing it as “reckless.” It seems this internal strife and differing views on leadership roles and responsibilities could have contributed to the ongoing tension demonstrated in her recent book.
